Your little one will play with anything – but not everything is a toy. Babies under 6 months have limited motor skills and hand-eye coordination, meaning it’s important that they play with toys that are safe.
You’ll want to avoid toys that are heavy and those that have small or detachable objects, long strings or chords, shard edges or magnets. Always supervise babies when they are playing with toys and inspect toys regularly for signs of wear or damage.
